China National Building Material Group (CNBM) held its Procurement and Supply Chain Management Conference in Beijing from March 4 to 5.  The conference aimed to conduct a systematic review of the group's current procurement and supply chain management and to outline key tasks for the next phase. CNBM Chairman Zhou Yuxian delivered an important speech titled "Lean Management, Digital Intelligence Empowerment: Building a Modern Supply Chain Benchmark in the Building Materials Industry." Deputy General Manager Qu Xiaoli presented a work report on the group's procurement and supply chain management.

Zhou Yuxian emphasized that this conference was the first time the group has held a dedicated meeting focused on procurement and supply chain management, highlighting its significance. It is necessary to align with the overall situation of national development and the group's needs for high-quality development, to thoroughly understand the essence and connotation of supply chain management, and to comprehend the significance of supply chain management. Zhou Yuxian proposed that CNBM speed up the development of a "lean, collaborative, intelligent, green, and international" supply chain management system through five key initiatives. First, strengthen the foundation of lean supply chain management by implementing full supply chain lifecycle management practices. Second, enhance supply chain collaborative capabilities to improve the efficiency and integration of the supply chain. Third, accelerate the construction and application of digital platforms to elevate the intelligence level of the supply chain. Fourth, promote energy conservation and carbon reduction throughout the supply chain to improve its sustainability. Fifth, optimize the international layout of the supply chain to increase its global influence.

Qu Xiaoli systematically summarized the group's procurement and supply chain management operations, conducting an in-depth analysis of current status and shortcomings, and clearly outlining a plan for developing the group's procurement and supply chain system. In the next phase, efforts will be focused on strengthening the construction of procurement and supply chain organizations, improving the procurement and supply chain system, strengthening centralized management and control of procurement operations, developing a supply chain ecosystem, continuously advancing digital and intelligent capabilities, and establishing regular performance evaluation mechanisms. To effectively improve procurement and supply chain management, all enterprises in the group should benchmark against industry leaders, ensure strict implementation, and leverage professional, lean, and digital approaches and measures.

During the conference, experts from the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing and the China Minmetals Corporation provided systematic interpretations and practical insights into the requirements and relevant policies for central enterprise procurement and supply chain management. This offered professional guidance for the group's procurement and supply chain management efforts. On-site, representatives from the group's management department presented and solicited feedback on the procurement and supply chain management system construction plan. Sinoma Science & Technology shared its experiences in procurement and supply chain management. The conference also featured the unveiling ceremony for the "CNBM Procurement Trading Center".This marks a significant step forward in the group's transformation and upgrading of procurement and supply chain management.
