On June 25, the World Economic Forum convened the 15th Annual Meeting of the New Champions (also known as the Summer Davos) in Dalian, Liaoning. There were 1,600 guests from nearly 80 countries and regions to discuss the "Next Frontiers for Growth" and explore new driving forces and new paths for world economic growth. Chinese Premier Li Qiang delivered a speech at the opening ceremony and attended a symposium with foreign representatives. Zhou Yuxian, Party Secretary and Chairman of CNBM, was invited to the opening ceremony as well as some other activities.
During the forum, Zhou Yuxian was invited to attend a private session chaired by UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed to discuss investment opportunities in Africa, policy recommendations, and the role of companies in promoting investment and accelerating sustainable development across the African continent.
During the forum, Zhou Yuxian met with Robin Zeng, CATL’s Founder, Chairman and General Manager. They discussed new energy materials and equipment, materials for new energy vehicles, zero-carbon factories, and cooperation on overseas projects, exchanged views on further strategic cooperation, and made cooperation plans.
The World Economic Forum (WEF) was established in 1971, and also known as the "Davos Forum" as it convened its first meeting in Davos, Switzerland. Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, it is an independent international organization committed to exploring and discussing global economic issues and promoting international economic cooperation. With the subsequent expansion of influence and the invitation of higher-level participants, it has been recognized as the "highest-level unofficial international economic forum" and one of the most important unofficial gatherings for government dignitaries, businessmen, and leaders of civil and social groups to discuss global economic issues.
