Song Zhiping Met Saint-Gobain High Level Delegation

On September 28, Song Zhiping, Chairman and Party Secretary of China National Building Materials Group (CNBM) met with Pierre-André DE CHALENDAR, Chairman and CEO of Saint-Gobain Group, as well as his delegation.
Mr. Song greeted the guests. He briefed them on China’s recent economic situations and the development of CNBM, as well as our business on cement, glass, plasterboards, etc. He emphasized that CNBM has fulfilled social responsibilities conscientiously and focused greatly on climate changes, promoting the unification and recombination of traditional building material fields as well as their reconstructuring and environmental procedures such as energy saving and emission reduction on the one hand, striving to develop new materials, new housing types and new energy materials on the other hand.CNBM achieved success in environment protection and energy saving. CNBM will keep promoting a strategy of environmental-friendliness, intelligence, high-end and globalization. It will continue to play an active role in realizing sustainable development. Hopefully both parties can exert their powers in terms of equipment or technology, seeking cooperative opportunities internationally, achieving mutual benefits.
CHALENDAR discussed with CNBM on energy utility, development strategy and future business cooperation. He said that CNBM is an enterprise with thorough understanding of the market, and he is very willing to cooperate with CNBM in more and deeper fields. CHALENDAR also mentioned that climate change is the focus of the world and Saint-Gobain has done a lot of work in reducing carbon emission. He wished the two parties can work harder in cooperation, seize the opportunity of One Belt and One Road Initiative, and bring into full play their influences in the global market.
During the meeting, both parties exchanged their opinions on environmental protection procedures like reducing energy consumption, and the research and development of new products and technologies. They discussed thoroughly about transforming and upgrading, as well as innovation of mechanisms and business models. They mentioned that they will enhance high-level communication and explore new cooperative areas, promoting the low carbon policy in global building material industry, as well as its healthy, sustainable development.
