Yao Yan Leads CBMA Delegation to Make an on-the-Spot Investigation on

From May 23 to May 29, Yao Yan, General Manager of China National Building Materials Group Corporation (CNBM) and President of China Building Materials Academy (CBMA), led the concrete and energy saving technology delegation to visit and conduct academic exchanges with the Japanese NEDO New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization, Faculty of Engineering of Tokyo University, Panasonic Center Tokyo, Kumagai Factory of Taiheiyo Cement Corporation, Nuclear Fuel Transport Co., Ltd., Graduate School of Engineering Hokkaido University, Concrete and Mechanical Laboratories and Otaru Port Breakwater and other research institutions and well-known enterprises.
The CBMA delegation made a comprehensive introduction of the development and status of the Chinese concrete industry, particularly research efforts of the Academy in cement, concrete and green building materials. The Japanese representatives showed the latest developments and technological advances of the energy conservation and green building materials in the Japanese building materials field, made a detailed description of the development and status of the Japanese concrete industry as well as the concrete technology for disposal of nuclear wastes respectively. Both parties probed into the co-processing waste technology during cement production. Yao Yan conducted cordial talks and academic exchanges with the presidents, senior directors and well-known professors of the respective host institutions, and reached memoranda of understandings on international cooperation, personnel exchanges and other matters.
