On April 19, witnessed by the certification personnel of Germanischer Lloyd (GL), Blade Testing Center, Lianyungang Zhongfu Lianzhong Composites Group Co., Ltd. passed 62-m 5-Mw blade static loading test, which is China's first 5-Mw blade approved by GL. The blade first rolled off the assembly line on December 20, 2010 as a product jointly created by domestic and overseas technical teams of Zhongfu Lianzhong. The blade can be applied to IEC IB class wind zone in the temperature range of minus 40°C to 50°C, and a lightning rod on the tip is adopted for purpose of lightning protection.
GL is one of the world-renowned classification societies; in the field of wind turbine power generation, the GL certification is the world's leading wind power equipment quality and safety certifications. At present, more than half of the world's large-scale wind power projects are certified by GL Wind. In the wind power generation and development process in nearly three decades, GL Wind developed and released the world's most complete certification rules and systems, which have been widely adopted as IEC international standards.
Engineer Zhao on behalf of GL said: "The blade testing center of Zhongfu Lianzhong is an indoor testing center having undertaken the largest number blade tests of varied sizes and having presented the most stable loading.” So far, the center has successfully completed static load tests of 25 blades of 1.5-5 Mw and the fatigue test of a 1.5 Mw blade.
