CNBM wins the certificate for Global 500,Yao Yan attends the ceremony of Fortune Global 500

On Sep. 20th, the Fortune magazine held a dinner party and ceremony for the Fortune Global 500 in Beijing. The General Manager Yao Yan attended and received the certificate for Global 500 on behalf of CNBM. This meeting was hosted by Bill Powell, Asian Chief Editor of Fortune and Director of Chinese branch.
Executive Editor Stephanie N. Mehta of the Fortune magazine made a speech in the ceremony and clarified the ranking concept and significance of global 500 by Fortune. He mentioned the significant contribution to the global economy made by the rapid development of Chinese enterprises, and talked about the globalization, international collaboration of enterprises and other prospective topics. Later, Stephanie N. Mehta and Bill Powell jointly issued the certificate to the Chinese enterprises of Fortune Global 500 in the year of 2011.
FortuneGlobal 500 has always been the authoritative list to measure the influence, scale and strength of world's large enterprises, and is also the definitive barometer to reflect the world economic situation. On July. 7th, 2011, Fortune magazine formally publicized the ranking list of world top 500, and CNBM was listed for the first time, ranking 485. CNBM ranks the fifth in the global building material industry, and the first four are Compagnie de Saint-Gobain, CRH, Lafarge and Holcim separately. This year, there are 69 Chinese enterprises (including Taiwan) in total to rank in the list of Fortune Global 500, among which, 16 is newly listed, and 38 central enterprises are listed with 8 new faces. The listed number of Chinese enterprises for the first time exceeds that of Japan, only second to USA.
In recent years, under the correct leadership of SASAC, CNBM gives greatimpetustojoint reconstruction of cement and glass, structural adjustment and energy saving and emission reduction, vigorously develop new building materials, as well as new energy-saving buildings and new energy materials, and realizes leapfrogdevelopmentby following a road of capital operation, joint reorganization and integrative innovation. In the year of 2010, the operating revenue of CNBM amounted to 135.4 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 66%. The profit was 7.56 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 95%. The total asset amounted to 153.5 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 35%. CNBM is firmly at the first place of the top 100 in the building material industry in our country, and is a Grade A enterprise in the evaluation of operation performance by SASAC. At this time, CNBM ranks on the world top 500 at the last year of "Eleventh Five-Year Plan ", which enable the realization of entering the world top 500 as planned in "Twelve Five” in advance.
